The Pennsylvania State University Greenhouse Gas Emissions Calculator and the accompanying inventory were developed by a graduate student in the Department of Geography of the Pennsylvania State University and were funded in part by the Pennsylvania State University's Office of the Physical Plant and the Center for Integrated Regional Development (CIRA).

The calculator calculates greenhouse gas emissions for colleges and universities interested in producing greenhouse gas emissions inventories.
